We can’t do it alone.

One of the things we found ourselves saying at the Housing Washington convention is that we can’t solve the problem of housing affordability on our own. If all of the non-profits in that hall were able to build to our hearts content, we couldn’t solve it alone. We need help. Changes in policy and regulations are needed to make it easier to build. What we need structural changes in order to drive down the cost of home.

These changes are only going to come from government. We need our elected officials from the federal government all the way down to our city council members to step up and work to advance policies to make home-ownership more affordable. That is where you come in.  Below is a link to a tool from Habitat for Humanity International that help reach out to all of your elected officials all at the same time. Share your story and tell them why passing policies that bring down the cost of home is important. Let us know on Facebook and Twitter that you’ve reached out.
